More, updated Pictures

In my final steps of completing my product, I am researching, in the pictures shown, information to include during my presentation. I plan to include an interacitve segment where the students can do some activities with the smartboard. I hope this will keep the class entertained as well as have some fun!

** I am searching for treatments in this picture

** In this picture Mrs. Moss is overlooking what I am doing, she made sure I stuck to the right diseases and conditions.

Step 1 - Almost Complete

My presentation is near completion. Upon completion of the presentation I will be creating posters and models to help demonstrate more effectively what I am teaching to the students. I am nearly halfway complete with my hours and should finish up within the next few meetings. I have lesson plans to complete as well as activities for the students to do.

Week 2's productivity

This week I worked more on my presentation. I am almost complete with my presentation; should be no more than five or six more hours. My and my mentor have discussed many more diseases. I definitely realized respiratory diseases have an overwhelming number compared to the circulatory and nervous diseases. For example, in the picture to the left I found that emphysema and bronchitis are the most common respiratory diseases. I found out that the nervous system is ONLY effected through the circulatory and respiratory systems by inhalation and absorption. I think that in my next meeting with my mentor we will complete, or at least try to complete my presentation. I will my lesson plans for the presentations as well as look into some models. I am really excited about presenting my product!!

Problems with air pollution

I am in the process of creating a presentation on the effects of air pollution (picture to show factory emissions to the right) to all of the body systems. So far I have about two respiratory system diseases and some introductory slides. I found out in the middle of coming up with diseases that I needed some excess help. My mentor gave me a number to call a pulmonologist. I plan on acquiring some more inside on the diseases I have as well as getting more diseases to list. I think after this I will call the neurosurgeon I worked with to find out some neurological diseases associated with air pollution. I will also talk to a cardiologist as well as other specialists to form a very detailed list of diseases. My mentor, Mrs. Moss, is a big help. She has helped me with the diseases so far, she has even had real experiences with some and has a lot of knowledge about them. Within the next week I plan to get at least 7 to 10 more hours.
